		<description>My school had 2 of the beasts operational until 1980/81.

The white plastic blocks contained (I don&#039;t have my engineering diagrams any more) ferrite cores wrapped as multivalued NANDs -- each core sat on its own little silicon putty cushion.

I thought the only transistors were the button sized metallic power transistors at the sides of the boards (it&#039;s been a while since that maintenance course PCL put on when I was in the 6th form)

Reading paper tape was ok but we soon learnt to splice our corrections into the tape and then the machine code for the copy program on the front panel to read the paper tape through the optical reader and create a new copy (read c; print c)

Somewhere I have my Elliott 803 autocode quick reference guide.</description>
